1. Core Privacy Promise: Zero Book Uploads
PreFlight EPUB was built around a privacy-first architectural foundation: your manuscript and EPUB files are never uploaded to our servers.
When you drag and drop an EPUB into PreFlight EPUB, the archive is read directly into your device's local browser memory. Parsing, validation, XML mutation, image downsampling, and repackaging happen 100% locally via Web Workers and HTML5 Canvas.
2. Information We Collect
- Account & Authentication: If you sign up or join our early-access waitlist, we collect your email address to provide access to your account and send product updates.
- Payment & Billing Data: Payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses, VAT numbers) are collected and processed directly by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. We do not store or have access to full credit card numbers.
- Aggregated Diagnostic Metrics: Anonymous performance telemetry (e.g. error code frequencies such as RSC-005 counts, browser execution speed) to continuously improve our validation rules. No manuscript text, titles, or author metadata are extracted.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected data solely to:
- Verify active subscription tiers and unlock pro auto-fix features.
- Deliver transactional notifications, receipt confirmations, and product updates.
- Prevent fraudulent misuse of payment gateways.
4. GDPR & EU Data Subject Rights
Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related data protection laws, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal information we hold (such as your account email). Since your book content never leaves your browser, no manuscript data is processed on external servers.
